Ticket, please: Law needed to stop bulk-buy scalpers from having unfair advantage in ticket sales

The days of cracking down on people who simply want to sell their purchased tickets to sporting events and concerts is about over. Tough laws to stop those transactions are largely ignored or wiped off the books. But what do you do about those scalpers who buy up large blocks of tickets, then try to sell them at prices far above the ticket value?

That’s the issue now before the Tennessee Legislature, and it pits the sporting and concert business plus Ticketmaster against ticket resellers like StubHub as well as people who think the government should just stay out of it.
