Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, ticket brokers agree to $2.76M settlement over illegal ticket scalping

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced a $2.76 million settlement Tuesday with six ticket brokers who had jacked up prices and resold tickets at prices far above face-value.

“New Yorkers deserve a fairer ticket marketplace,” Schneiderman said in a statement.

A report issued by Schneiderman in January found hundreds of thousands of tickets to concerts and sporting events were purchased by brokers using illegal ticket bot software. The settlement requires the companies to stop using the bots and to obtain proper licenses.
