Another perspective on governing ticket scalpers

From Bill Cobey, a former chairman of the N.C. Republican Party, in response to “Fans should have open market for buying tickets” (June 21 For the Record):

StubHub President Chris Tsakalakis’ piece on House Bill 308 does not provide consumers and fans throughout our state with the full scope of information. As a former UNC Chapel Hill athletic director, I can see the bill does not reform the sale of concert and sporting event tickets at all. It simply supports ticket scalpers such as StubHub, leaving the average fan unprotected.
